Across the Midwest and the East, climate change in recent years has resulted in dramatic weather patterns from intense, short droughts to inundations of rain in a short period of time. Rising temperatures have a direct effect on the hydraulic cycle.  In northeastern Ohio, periods of rain have become far more intense, leading to an inconsistent growing season for crops.
